There’s a new event coming to Central Alberta that will have you yelling ‘cheers’! On April 27th, head over to the Edmonton Convention Centre to take part in the inaugural Alberta Spirits and Cocktail Festival.

This first-ever event is working to bring local distillers and restaurants together to create a unique and memorable experience. There will be more than 30 food and spirit exhibitors, bringing with them over 100 different spirits for you to taste. There will be a wide variety of whiskeys, gins, vodkas, liqueurs and more to try, catering to every taste preference imaginable. Some of the confirmed distillers that will be attending the event include MD Distillery, Romero Distillery and Anohka Distillery - producers of the award-winning ‘Tempest Gin’ and ‘This Is Not Whisky’.

There will be many spectacles throughout the convention. Be captivated by the flips and spins of the mixologists in their Vegas-inspired bartending show. Get up close with the spirits themselves as you take Cocktail Making 101 with professional bartenders. You can even attend the Meet the Distillers series, chatting with some of Alberta’s top distillers. There will also be an on-site market and live performances from local musicians, such as Mandy McMillan and Mike Dominey.

There are two time slots for this event - 1:00pm to 5:00pm and 6:00pm to 10:00pm - and ticket prices range from $23 to $28 depending on what time you choose. You can get your tickets online to secure your spot ahead of the event. Drinks and food are not included in the ticket price. There is parking available onsite. Please note that this is an 18+ event, so minors are not permitted entry. Remember to drink responsibly and have a safe way of getting home.
