Take a magical tour of Edmonton’s RAD Torque Raceway as the 2.5km track transforms into the Magic of Lights winter light display this December. This is a drive through experience where families can don their coziest holiday pajamas and snuggle up in the car for a tour of over 1.5 million vibrant LED light displays. Magic of Lights runs Sunday to Thursday from 5pm – 9pm and Friday and Saturday from 5pm – 10pm. You can even meet Santa as you Capture the Magic with an intimate drive-up Santa photo experience under an enchanting tunnel of lights.
The Calgary Zoo and Wilder Institute presents Zoolights, a family friendly holiday tradition. After dark when the animals are all tucked in for bed, the Calgary Zoo opens for an immersive light display. Stroll through the park and enjoy the themed areas filled with holiday light displays. Guests can also skate in the Asia tent, try Rival Axe Throwing, or admire the Tunnel of Lights. Zoolights is open from 5pm to 9pm daily until January 8, 2023.
Looking for a fun family event to spark some holiday cheer? Once Upon a Christmas, the iconic Calgary Christmas event, is back at Heritage Park. Open weekends until December 18th throughout the Heritage Park Historical Village, Heritage Town Square, and the Gasoline Alley Museum. Enjoy Christmas carolers, a scavenger hunt, storytime, or even snowshoe racing.
Grab your Ugly Christmas Sweater and head over to Fort Saskatchewan’s Original Joe’s Restaurant for an Ugly Sweater Christmas Party on December 22nd. Try karaoke, enjoy amazing food and drinks, or just gather with friends and family. The fun starts at 9pm on Thursday December 22nd.
Spend your winter break trying to escape from the first ever ICE District Snow Maze. Opening December 23, 2022, at Fan Park, this massive 75’ x 75’ winter snow maze will have numerous photo opportunities, a slide, and even a locker room. Challenge your friends as you try not to get lost in this Oilers themed snow maze until January 29th.
